A well-organized kitchen can make cooking, cleaning, and even meal planning feel like a breeze. Whether you have a spacious kitchen or a small one, maximizing your cabinet space is key to making the most of your kitchen's layout. In this blog, we’ll explore some clever kitchen cabinet organization ideas that can help you maximize your space and keep your kitchen neat and functional.
1. Pots and Pans Organizer
I personally hate looking for things. Anything. I had a mentor tell me "you should be able to find anything in your tool box with your eyes closed" and the same can be said for our kitchen. These clever pieces of hardware are available as an entire drawer (for new cabinets) or as individual inserts that you can add to existing drawers.

2. Install Vertical Dividers for Cutting Boards and Baking Sheets
It’s easy for cutting boards, baking sheets, and trays to end up in disorganized piles. By adding vertical dividers to your cabinets, you can create separate sections to store these items upright, much like file folders in a drawer. This simple solution keeps your kitchen tools easily accessible while saving precious cabinet space.

Pro Tip: These metal wire dividers are very inexpensive and easy to install. While we love the look of the wooden built-in dividers, the metal ones shown here are a great way to save a little money!
3. Maximize Blind Corner Cabinet Space With A Blind-Corner Pullout
Blind corner cabinets can be some of the most difficult spaces to organize, as items at the back are often hard to reach. A blind corner pull-out insert can transform your corner cabinets into highly functional storage areas. These clever units allow you to easily access all of the items stored there (and look super cool to boot!)

Pro Tip: While we love the gold standard Hafele Magic Corner, they are very expensive. The "kidney style" pull-outs serve the same function but cost significantly less.

4. Add Under-sink Drawers and Organizers
We especially love these clever U-shaped drawers in bathroom vanities where we need to maximize every last little bit of space. While that isn't always true in a kitchen, having both organization and better access to everything stored under your sink makes these a favorite.

Pro tip: There's quite a bit going on under your sink cabinet: plumbing lines, garbage disposals, water filters, etc. Be sure to coordinate early and often with your cabinetmaker / contractor to ensure everything goes smoothly.
5. Add A Charging Drawer
Who doesn't hate seeing tons of tangled chords hanging everywhere?

Pro Tip: To take this a step further, use an integrated countertop charger to cut chords completely!

6. Add Cutlery and Spice Inserts
This is one of our favorites because they are extremely easy to add and provide a ton of benefit right away. With dozens of sizes and configurations available from knife blocks to spices to utensils, we couldn't imagine a kitchen without at least one!

8. Pantry Pull-Out Shelves
While I'm personally not a fan of pull-out shelves (why not just use a drawer and eliminate having to first open the door?), adding them to a tall pantry cabinet is a game changer. These shelves glide out smoothly, giving you full visibility and easy access to items stored at the back of the cabinet. They're perfect for storing pots, pans, and even spices. With pull-out shelves, you can avoid the frustration of digging through your cabinet to find what you need.

Pro Tip: To maximize narrower pantries, use a pantry-pullout unit to access the entire cabinet from either side. They're expensive, but a must if you're needing to maximize every last inch of space.
